SonicElectronix.

so if i built my own and ported it it would be better?
Much much better.

so with the txi1008 i would be able to run 2 12" kickers @ 4ohms (400w rms each) and then each sub will have 350 w rms correct? or is it one sub will have 350w rms?
Get two dual 4 ohm subs and wire them to 1 ohm. Set the amp gain with a test tone and a DMM so each sub get's approx 400-500w rms.

is there a guide on here to wiring subs to one ohm? or is it just the way the subs are hooked up?

does dmm stand for digital multi meter?

and dont forget im 15 (16 in 2 weeks) so i dont really have acces to any of these devices nor o i have the money for them.

1. There most certainly is!

2. Indeed it does.

3. It's all good, man. They'll all still be for sale when you have the money for them.

It's all good man. We're here to seriously help if you're here to seriously learn. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ok last time just to make sure

* Subwoofer Size: 12"

* Impedance: 4 ohms

* Dual Voice Coil: Yes

* Peak Power Handling: 800 watts

* RMS Power Handling: 400 watts

* Woofer Surround: Santoprene Rubber

* Woofer Composition: N/A

* Sealed Box Volume: 1.0 - 4.6 cu. ft.

* Ported Box Volume: 1.75 - 2.25 cu. ft.

* Sensitivity: 86.7 dB

* Frequency Response: 25 - 500Hz

* Xmax (millimeters): N/A

* Top Mount Depth: 6-3/16"

* Cutout Diameter: 11-1/8"

* Warranty: 1-year Authorized Manufacturer's

those are the specs of the 12" kicker cvr

so those say 4 ohm and you said wire them down to 1 ohm does that mean the ohms of the sub are reduced or the ohms on the amplifier are reduced. thats the only thing that is confusing me.

but then the amp says 1000w@1ohm. that means if i hooked up 2 subs then each sub would be getting about 500w RMS correct?

so if i had 2 4ohm subs and wired them to 2 ohm. that would mean each sub is getting around 350-400w RMS correct?

the subs are dual 4 ohm (thats what the DVC means) there labeled as

* Dual Voice Coil: Yes

so each sub has 2 4 ohm coils

total of 4 4ohm coils

you parallel all them if all reseitance is same you do

resistance per coil / number of coils = load the amp sees

4coils /4ohms =1ohm load

looks like u care more about looks than the actual product, put some more thought into what your buying, or ask for some tips to get started, that stuff is all flash and no punch.(just trying to help)

I used them once to get my amp they took a real long time to sort everything out think it took me like 3 weeks to finally get it shipped, other than that it came in excellent condition and was what i ordered. I'd use them again hopefully things would go more smoothly though (probly bc im canadian and was getting it shipped out of the states).

don't think he looked at the whole post either, prolly just the first page where you had linked stuff that all looked ok, but was crap, you have progressed past that Silvercookie and are on your way to a good system. Now you just need to learn a bit about box design and make those 12's move!

yup gonna start researching that. ill post another topic in the enclosure section when i think i have it all down. also what type of ports would be better. one rectangle port at about 30-35hz or a bandpass box with 2 ports per sub?
