yea the HU was not on, the circuit was disconnected so it couldnt have been on. and yea the wire was in the terminal for about 45 secs before it all started happening
See, something just isn't making sense.

Any chance we can get some pics of the install? Was the amp completely hooked up to the rear battery? Positives and grounds?

 
heres another thing. after it got done smoking. it was actually flaming for a little bit. but i unhooked everything as fast as i could. as many wires as i could. after it stopped flaming i slowed down a bit. after disconnecting the bottom wires from both bottom inputs. the tops were still in, or one power wire was in at least. and the hifonics symbol was lit up. now if these amps are only straipped, and only the bottom board was smoking, and once i unplugged that top power wire, the light went off (which i dont know why, the remote wire wasnt even plugged in..) could only the bottom boards mosfets be burned?

 
the amp was completely hooked up the rear battery (s). i have 4 batts back there, i took a ground and a postive off each batt so not to strain them. each batt had a ground hooked up into the amp, and 3 postivies off 3 batts were hooked in. the last positive was in and being tightening down.

and to tapouts response. but the allen wrench had touched the case plenty of times before i tightened down the alst one, but maybe that is the case.

 
but if the batts were gorunded to the cars frame but had life, wudnt that have messed up with the first three sets of inputs?

 
i was seriously pwnt. but after i get this fixed. its going up for sale, so anyone interested, contact me. but looking to get it fixed still.
