SSA DCON's are on sale right now in the SSA store black Friday sales. That would be a great sub depending of course on the size and quality of box you have. It's in your price range, actually a little lower.

ID12. It fits in your price range, and it is very musical. Your box/power would be almost perfect for it. They're rated at 250 RMS. However, a lot of people give them more than rated in sealed enclosures with good results.

Dayton Reference HO12, SVC or DVC

The last two can be placed in a smaller box when necessary. In terms of sensitivity per watt of power, the IDQ probably will give you the most output, followed by the rest, in that order.

The IdQ actually suprised me, I put it in my 2dr full size blazer when my crap got stolen just for some filler and it hit nicely it's def a nice sq sub hits hard for very little power. Just don't expect to be pounding the neighborhood down with it, Ha!

I dunno. It had been compared to IDQ, subjectively and objectively a few times, and has done well. Just because someone has set SA-12 sub to sound like a fartbox before, does not mean it won't sound good for SQ application in a right type of box. Now, given that the price of SA-12 lower than that of IDQ, that's an interesting proposition.
