Someone please help! (pics)

I guess im gona ground to the battery under my hood since av83 said it was good. Im just concerned about the wire length.. Ground wire from my trunk to the hood? Thought grounds were supposed to be 18 inches or shorter. Either way i still dont think that ground i made would cause that noise and blow a tweeter but hey what do i know. Minus well try it.

So its ok to run a ground wire from the trunk to the battery?? Thats a llongg ways. But why would a bad ground blow out a speaker and make that crazy loud noise when gain is turned up .
Think of it this way... the ground needs to be able to carry the exact same amount of power, just as efficiently, that the power wire does. Whether its the car body, frame, or a cable, doesn't matter.

Ok cool looks like im off to spend $30 on 15 feet of 8 gauge ground. oh and buy new tweets while im at it lol. Well first im gona play with the ones currently installed because why not blow those out rather than new ones ya know?

Im gona ground to battery tomoro. If that doesnt fix it then idk i give up gona take it somewhere to get it installed or something

wtf, 8 ga? NOOOOOOOOOOO , LOL.

Okk i got an idea. Im gona hook up the kicker amp to the wiring that goes to my sub amp. Its 4 gauge and have had no probs with the sub amp since i installed it. So imo if i still get the noise then theres a problem with the amp right?

Here's a couple problems with that... 1) That Quart is probably just getting by, all by itself, on 4 ga wiring. The kicker is fused for 80 amps, and the Quart is fused for 140. You are running the quart at 1 ohm, so your are using it to its full potential and almost maxing out the capability of your power wire with just that amp. Adding that kicker amp to the mix will not be good in the long run. You can get by for now with a distro block on the end of the four gauge and eight gauge going to the kicker/four gauge going to the quart, but it would be best to either run 0 gauge if you want to run both off the same wire.

2) You said that the quart amp was grounded the same way. If it is, I don't even know how it's survived this long. Is the terminal for that sitting on top of the seat belt holder, like the other ground?

No i ment unhook to quart amp then hook up the kicker anp to its 4 gauge wires to see if i still get the noise. But yea its been grounded the same way for a long long time. A local car audio shop did it.

Ya the quarts grounded the same way a car audio shop did it. But i ment unhook the quart amp then hook up the kicker to its 4 gauge wires. Just to see if it was my 8 gauge wiring that caused it.

I doubt it was the wiring. 8 gauge (ofc, anyways) is fine for that amp, especially if its a short run. Its most likely the way its grounded.
