i am trying to figure out what dims. to build my box. it is for 2 15in kicker cvr15s. the kicker specs are a min. of 3.0 cuft. a peice. i want to tune them to about 35hz. the problem is my max dims. are 15in tall, 35in. wide and 30in. long. would it be the best to build a single or dual chambered box in this situation? would it hurt to build a single chambered box to about 5cuft. net volume giving them about 2.5 cuft a peice (is it ok to give them less volume than what kicker say)?

im also having problems of which way to fire the ports and where to put the woofers. i have about 3 inches of clearence on the top. none on the back. 5 or so inches on one part of the side panel and 5 or so inches on the front of the box facing the backseat. would it be best to just fire the port and the woofer to the backseat or what?

so pretty much i just need to know. 1 chamber or 2? which way to fire ports and woofers for best results and is it ok to give them less that required volume?

thanks for any help.

You can do 2.5cu.ft. each. It might make for higher port velocities though, so you'll need to make sure you have port area. If possible it is usually better to have the subs fire toward the back of the car.

it is looking like the best way to fire the port would either be up or to the front because there is extra space in the front of my trunk that can't fit a box into but could be used as clearence for the port. if i put the port on the top it would be long and definitly to big because of how long the box is.

if i made the box 2.5cuft per sub i could probaly fit and dual chambered box in the trunk and fire the subs and port towards the rear. would that be ok?

hey thanks for the help beat dominator. but i have one more question. i have been looking been deciding what to do. does a single chambered net box of 5cuft. tuned to 35hz sound ok for the 15s. it will have like a 6.5 in by 13.5 in port. and ill put it so the port fires towards the rear. trying to get these to fit is a SOB!

yeah i got that off of a ported box calculator just to get and idea. im gonna do it all by hand just as soon as i decide what to do. the port has to be 13.5 inches tall so maybe 4in on the width would be ok?

also would the port be the best on one end the front or in between the two woofers.( id rather put it on the end of the front because it would be a little easier.)
