It sounds great, it is ported and tuned in the high 20's and gets extremely low for an 8 inch sub in a truck.

let me ask then, where is the port?

because im not seeing one. it looks almost like a bandpass box to me with that cover over the driver...

The box is for a Dodge Ram Quad cab

The MDF board covers the area where the sub is otherwise it fires directly into a soft foamy seat, this way the sound waves are forced to go out. The port is on the side and fires up at an angle towards the drivers head. It is like a downfiring sub turned upside down aka an upfiring sub. The sound is absolutely amazing for a single 8.
