Hi there, just a few questions about RCA's and old headunits

I've got an old-school Panasonic (497 40 watt) headunit in my wagon that doesn't have RCA outputs for an amp, so can I cut a RCA cable and use the speaker outputs as amp inputs? or is there a good, cheap inline amp that'll work in a car?
