some questions

Alright well I think its time to make a setup for my 93 camaro, since christmas and income tax is coming up pretty soon. Everything is stock atm, have a nice panasonic H/U though that I will be using.

First question is which size subs should I use? I will be using a seal box inclosure(more on this later) and im going for SQ with decent car shaking. Now I never really understood the diff between sub sizes, but im looking at 2 FI Q 12's or 15's for the subs. or i could go with 3 10s.

Now the box, camaros trunks are pretty gay for boxes, and since I dont know anyone that would build one for me I was looking at this site.

http://www.subthump.com/acamarowell.htm

They customize it fully for you and know their stuff, although their prices are almost insane.

Also what are some good 6.5 comps out nowadays?

2 12's sealed get loud easily in a camaro. also, there's some quality prefabs for camaros out there, keep looking around. AS for comps, there's many quality brands, just depends on the sound you're expecting and the power you're going to throw at them

Yeah Im most likely going to go with 12s. Ive had some bad experiences with prefab boxes and really dont like going down that road, I would rather pay 100 extra dollars just to feel good about them actually customizing it to the subs ill be using in it.

And ill probably get some rainbow comps, Im wanting around 150-200RMS out of the comps, and want it crystal clear.

Now if anyone wants to build me a box, like that site would and customize it for my subs then ill gladly get someone on here to do it.

active isn't all its cracked up to be IMO. Can sound fantastic, but its a hassle getting everything else in order, especially if going 3-way
...So?

Nothing worth doing just happens on its own //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They eat power.
And I'd probably ditch the passive crossovers and go active.
Thats a good thing though right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

and about the crossovers, those come with passive crossovers?(sorry im a newbie but I do know the diff between them) ofcourse Id want active but I didnt see anywhere in which it says which one they are.

edit im guessing because it says 2way?

Also, ill be using these as long as they will last me, im not one to keep upgrading things, rather get the best of what I want the first time and use it for as long as possible ;p

true, but if you can't appreciate it, why bother? if you're not gonna keep every component (HU, amp, and components) for more than a year, its just not worth it to me
Some of us do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

An active setup refers to either using the head unit to split the frequencies before the amp, or an external crossover unit. Needs four channels of amplification, two for the tweets and two for the midbasses.

So what I linked wouldnt work for active crossover or am I misunderstanding you? Do those not come with external crossover units?

Also i will most likely need an extra battery or 2 or the big 3 for 2 fi Qs and boston pro comps right?
