some questions overall

i have a 2001 acura 3.2 Cl Type-S

as my deck i have a new eclipse 8445

i have a zapco z150 75w x 2 running to a set of dls 3-way components

for subs i have a pair of zapco studio 500LE amps and a pair of Id Mam 10 subs.

im only running one 500 and one sub the sub is a dual 2ohm wired to 4ohm, and the amp is 1000 watts mono at 4ohm. the problem i have is that after i have it cranked up the amp shuts off after 5 or 10 minutes of loud use. is that possibly a wiring issue or do you think there is somethign wrong with the amp. i ran 4awg wire all the way back to a dist block in the trunk. i dont have a cap thats why i only have one amp and one sub going. do you think a cap would make the amp run longer???

any help or ideas would be appriciated.

First: if your sub is wired at 4 ohm and your amp puts out 1000w at 4 ohm how do you only have 500 watts going to the sub?

Second: a cap would have absolutely nothing to do with the amp shutting off.

I don't know what would do that, but free bump so someone can maybe help you out.
