if making speaker rings for mid/tweeters what thickness of material should i use? i have a lot of 3/4 laying around or is that to thick? or does it just depend on if it can fit or not?

and if making boxes for 6x9 does thickness matter? can i make it out of any sort of thickness?

last question should i deadend my spare tire well? would it make a big difference if i do?

its a mazda 6 hatchback. if anything my wing shakes and my gas door. should i deadend the gas door?

3/4 sounds like you might run into space issues, but if it fits, its not gonna hurt anything. Deadening your spare tire well should help with road noise esp in a hatchback. If thats the reason for adding deadening material, may consider the rear tire wells too as that helps a ton with road noise. Gas door will be tricky, but if you put something between the door itself and where it mates up to the body of the car, that might work

thanks i wanted to do it just because iv seen people do it here and thought it would be an easy upgrade from something. when you dont buy something for awhile you just wanna just do some simple here and there upgrades. ill try get something thinner but you think 1/4 is to flimsy?

Stiffer the better for speaker mounting rings/cabinets, etc. Maybe dampened a little against vibrational destruction too! Usually translates to thickness of speaker ring material. And woo has a built in vibrational dampening factor! Of course termites love to eat wood too! So if you use a lot of wood in your ride, treat against termites too! ;-)

And yes, dampen everything you can against easy sympathetic vibration when it comes to every vibratory panel in your ride! You will not notice over dampening, but you WILL notice under dampening!!
