you don't need a ton of power for the sub to sound good, so long as you are playing it within the limits of what your amp can put out cleanly.
i wouldn't back down on power for you door speakers though- having extra power there will likely net you better sound quality- you just won't be using the more distorted uppper end of the amps power.
