Some Questions about HID's

I personally wouldn't go any higher than 6000k, but as stated it's all opinion. But facts are the higher your temp the less output. And just so everyone knows OEM HID temp for BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, Honda, etc cars is 4300k so the color you see is a result of the projector and the lense not the bulb temp itself.

i went with the 8000k in my integra, its mostly blue, but still pretty **** bright to me.

*sigh* lotta idiots and wanna be pimps in this thread... stocks are 4300 k FOR A REASON. get as close to that as you can
^^^

4300K puts out the most Lumens, and if you're running a projector setup you'll get that blue/purplish cutoff without sacrificing light output.

If you're running just normal D2R HID capsules (they arnt called bulbs) dont go above 6500K. 4300K= Sunlight, 5000K= blueish, 6000K= purplish. Just note that the higher you go up the Kalvin chart, the less lumens you'll be putting out. Hence defeating the purpose of getting HIDs to begin with.

The best color/light output setup will be 4300K D2s capsules in a projector setup.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Dont run D2s capsules in a NON-projector setup, they dont have a shield, and you'll be blinding everyone. Once everything is done, get them aimed, dont be a douche, and visit HID forums for more precise info.

Real HIDs dont go much above 6000K, stick to that # (or under) and you'll be alright. If you're running 8000K-10000K, well it might look cool, but you're basically running a strong LED and your lumens output has gone to ****.

I would like to thank all the people that get lame 8k and 10k lights and have them installed horribly for blinding me at night when I'm driving.

I own the first car ever manufactured with hids *****es, no fakes.......lincoln Mark viii......

If poeple want color buy fu cking colored hologens.

If you want hids buy the corrct fu cking housings.

if you wanted to buy HID's for any kind of vehicle(I drive a truck) where would you look? What's a reputable site? What's this talk about HID's and projectors. I know nothing of this subject sorry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
2 years ago, I would have known what direction to point you right off the top of my head //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Lets see...

http://www.hidplanet.com/package.html should give you an idea of some decent kits.

Put some time into research, http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/ and figure out what you want from then on. Just like caraudio...

edit: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif you're going to have to retrofit them into your current housings, so it will require some creativity on your part and a bit of work. If you've installed audio though, im sure you'll be upto the task. Worst case scenario, you'll jack up your OEM housing and will have to buy new ones.

This isn't what they REALLY look like. It's just a sweet picture.

I'm just rocking a kit right now, can't afford the ONE projector setup they make for my car right now, so for now I'm sporting blinders. I don't actually get flashed at very often... I expected it to happen at least fairly often.

You can have someone custom retrofit you some projectors, but it'll cost you a decent amount depending on the work needed.

My TL came stock with 4300k. As said earlier thats the brightest you can get with the most light output. I just got a 5000k kit for my foglights from Kaixen. The combo is awesome.

I run mobilehid.com 5K kits in both high and low beams. I marked off the cutoff points on the garage wall and after install was able to match the cutoffs almost exactly. I have not had anyone flash me yet except when I forgot my high beams the other night. Guy flashed me from well over 1/2 mile away hahaha. When the brights warm up ****.
