Batman's a scientist?!
First off, i'll explain my perdiciment. I have a system that i am now embarassed of and want to replace it. I have a mid-priced kenwood h/u running to stock door and rear mids and 2 12" pioneer premiers in a sealed box with a 500x2 channel american legacy amp. it looks okay and soundwise it gets the job done but now im in the market to get kind of serious. from end to end, im looking for information on sound quality. i was wondering if anyone knew where to find books on the theories and explanations of installs. i've installed some things myself and it turned out ok but i want to know how to do it the right way without goin to a school. what i'm saying may not make sense cause im writing off the top of my head..... a couple more questions. si magnum sub website? i cant find it. what does DD stand for and the website? any ideas on entire sq system? what would you put together for the ultimate SQ system is a better question. and finnally the question everyone hates, what is the best sub for SQ and SPL for the best price.? i checked adire and they seemed very reasonable. OH! also... other good brands i havent heard of. I just heard of Magnum, RE, DD, Incriminator, and Adire today and i was wondering what else is out there. I'm sure i sound like a moron by now but any answers would help. thanks... me--> //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

Honestly, I don't know of any books.....or even any comprehensive websites. General ideas; you want the pathlengths of the speakers to be as close to even as possible, you want to kill as much resonances and reflections in the vehicle as possible, you need to properly level match and phase each speaker, speaker aiming and placement is very important.

Best thing to do is go to http://www.elitecaraudio.com and look at the tutorials (link right underneath the top banner) as well as the forum there, and also check out the forums at http://www.carsound.com. Both of those are more SQ oriented, with many, many IASCA and USACi world champions that surf and give advice. Just read through some of the threads that are about topics you are interested in, and do some searching about things like "speaker placment" or "speaker aiming" or "phasing" or "level matching" or "equalization"......things of that nature. As you search more, you'll come up with more questions.

si magnum sub website?
http://stereointegrity.com/

what does DD stand for and the website?
Digital Designs, http://www.ddaudio.com

any ideas on entire sq system?
There is so much to that question that it would take pages to cover. Basic idea; 95% install/tuning and 5% equipment. The install and tuning are the major thing that will determine how the stereo sounds. Good equipment with bad install = bad sound.

what would you put together for the ultimate SQ system is a better question.
Budget is the major limiting factor there. And again, "decent" equipment installed and tuned properly will give great results.

what is the best sub for SQ and SPL for the best price.?
Short answer; there is no best, period. IDMax, Brahma, XXX, Magnum D2 all are very good, but "best" is subjective.

also... other good brands i havent heard of. I just heard of Magnum, RE, DD, Incriminator, and Adire today and i was wondering what else is out there.
Rainbow, Arc Audio, Tru Technology, Zapco, Focal, Brax/Helix, Boston Acoustic, Image Dynamics, etc........the list could go on forever.

dude, your a badass. i didnt think anyone would take the time to answer my questions. i appreciate it. i wish there were more people like you who will take the time to answer an honest question no matter how ignorant it may be.

You're post actually had some thought and willingness to learn behind it.......those I don't mind (and actually enjoy) taking the time to answer. If you don't ask, you'll never know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But it's the "I want my shit to bump hard and be heard from blocks away, what should I buy" posts that are annoying..........

`those pioneers should sound good...

1st prob....sub amp..thats prob only given the subs maybe 125 watts rms per sub..if there the pioneers i have they are 500 rms 1000 max....i had a kicker 800.2 hooked to em and it hit hard..no joke....i'd look at another amp....

im comparing the loudness to 2 12" l7's, 3 12" mtx 8000's, 2 12" hx2's, ect...
