soldering help!!

ok, i'm gonna mess with this again in a little while.

the solder gets hot, melts, and becomes a perfect sphere and it won't stick to anything really.

what should i clean the board with? i got the old solder off with the sucker

I'm willing to bet half you idiots have never soldered anything before in your life..... :crash:
My wife has been soldering brain electrodes and circuit boards for the past 5 years, and a certified ipc inspector and solderer, been doing that for the past 6 yrs.

But me on the other hand..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

its not getting hot enough and you need flux. end of story.

your iron sucks she said //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

also if you are getting into a small space you need a small tip with a slight bend if you are having that sort of issues...

if its not heating it up enough its useless //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

we got a cold heat soldering gun and its jank, couldnt heat up shiat.

do you clean the tip off frequently so you are getting the best heat transfer function (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif) possible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif plus some tips are old and your gun may not have enough deebeez to power it.

But then trying to solder anything like that with no experience will often end in a ruined component and or pad.

just bought the shit. it's brand new

apparently i got the solderbahn one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

otherwise

the wire/metal you are working with has to be hot enough to melt solder...i think you are putting solder on the iron and then trying to put it on the board? you have to heat up the board and then put solder on it
