1st time installer--need help...

Hello all, I'm new here and I started off trying to search for my answers, but I couldn't find any.

Anyways, I am planning on upgrading my 05 Trailblazer speakers to 2 sets of Polk db6501 components, ran on the Alpine MRP-F600 amp. These will be all connected to my Pioneer 5900ib HU.

This will be my first time doing anything like this in a car and I have a few questions.

The main one is since I will be replacing the speakers and wires, what do i do with the factory speaker wire? do i just cut it and leave it in? or do i have to remove it off the HU as well??

Also, when I re-wire the speakers, can I split them up to each side or do I have to go on one side and all the way around to wire the speakers on the other? I thought that this is what someplaces recommend to reduce noice??

any other tips would be much appreciated.

You can run the speaker wires from your amp to the dash and hook back into the factory speaker wiring. On trailblazers, i mount the mid/high amp under the passenger seat, there is alot of room there. Also, by doing this, you can run the speaker wires under the console straight up to the factory wires in the dash. This will save you time and a lot of work. While running the wires from the amp to the dash, also install the RCA's and remote turn on from the HU, down to the amp.

That makes a lot of sense...thanks. A few more questions:

How do I remove the OEM speaker wires from the HU? Do I just pull them out of the back harness or can I just clip them and tape the ends?? And then just tap the amp wire to the OEM wires?

Do you mount the amp to the floor or the underside of the seat?

Also, would i just use the fuse box under the passenger seat for the power to the amp?
