need help installing deck, messed up wires..

hey all i just got a new car which is a mercury mystique 1996 and i cant get the deck working with sound... i've bought the harness and it has 2 connecters that looks like this

LEFT SIDEower/dimmer wire RIGHT SIDE:8 speaker wires

i can only use the one on the left which is power, lights and stuff... the second one is for speakers, but if i connect it, the deck wouldnt light up... so is there a way to connect the speaker wires without a wire harness? i've tried it and it is not easy to find the right wires that go together.. any help would be nice

this is the stock deck rigth now, this is the only way i will get sound

circled in red is where the second connecter in the top picture can connect to... but if i connect it there the deck wouldnt light up... when i disconnect it and connect it back to how it was originaly(like how it is in the pic right), then it would work

circled in blue is what i think is the real speaker wires but iunno what to do

In that car you have to ground the head unit to the frame there is not ground wire in the wiring. Trust me the black wire is not a ground from what I have encountered Hope this helps.

helps a bit... so the black wire is ground.. i just need to connect the black wire from the deck to metal?

if you look at the second picture that i took, could i just connect it to the metal part you see in the picture where the deck is suposed to be?

ok i think i've found a way to make it all work..

so i would ground the black wire from deck to chasis

then i connect speaker wire to the speakers then straight to the deck.

but i dont know if this will work so ill ask you guys first..

this is the only why i think it will work

i would have to run wires from all my doors and back speakers all the way to the deck..

do you guys think this would work?

yea...have you checked for other wires?...like my 96 intrepid has a amp that came with the dealer already...so if i disconnect the wires from the amp no sound comes out of my speakers...well that was before..now i just removed all the wires and went BIG..haha..lol...i got a 4 channel for all my mids and highs...but once again check for any other wires in your car bro....

I might be mistaken but if I remember correctly you also have an external amp somewhere in the car so you might have to get another wiring harness to bypass that to let the audio get past it because it will not turn on with the aftermarket one. I will double check this.

Yep If you have "premium sound" printed on the door of the car. This is something that you can either bypass the external amp or there is another on that will allow you to use the external amp instead of the one inside the head unit. If it was me I would use the one in the head unit.

you are right there is an amp behind the glove box.

hmm is that harness the one i need to get? cause i had a choice to buy a harness like that but i didnt want that one... i took the other one without rca ends... for some reason i cannot get it playing with sound, even with this hooked up

but its not the exact same as pic, its cut in half and i have the smaller peice, what i did was since it was cut in half and was bare wires, i connected it straight to the deck and plugged it in, no sound

i also have this one which came along in the pack, but its not hooked up because i got no idea what it is for...

right now i think i wanna remove that shitty amp and use my thump amp i have for speakers.. if not just hook up the speakers without this crappy amp...

well iuno if you guys can help me much on this unless someone has the same car but im gonna give it another try and hopefuly i can get sound
