Sold the car - Now regret it..

Also, i just did some research, just to see if i was correct, i looked at several sites and all had the same info...

1/4 Mile ET: 14.500

1/4 Mile MPH: 93.014

1/8 Mile ET: 9.230

1/8 Mile MPH: 73.660

0-60 Foot ET: 2.008

Temperature F: 65.0

Yes, it was a 95, awd...

Your not going to get 11s without some big bucks to the mods, no cai, fart can, etc is going to drop 3+ seconds...

Also, i gave the benefit of the doubt, most sites i saw were saying high 15s low 16s everything stock, still, you get my picture

ive been to a drag strip plenty of times my friend, i currently have an 84 z28 with a 454 big block with plenty of real mods done to it, cam, pulleys, etc etc that is running low 11s high 10s depending on the day and how it wants to treat me, knowing how hard it was to acheave this, im still sticking to my original statement, hes full of shit
I hope you have a set of sub frame connectors installed, or that 454 is gonna turn your unibody into a corkscrew. Then you won't be driving anywhere except in a circle.

Bigger turbo, 50 shot of NOS, better intercooler, turbo timer, magnaflow exhaust. That would be where I would start. Probably do it all for less that a grand if you look hard enough, and it will most likely be in the 11's.

Of course, welded for sure, the bolt ons are junk, alot of other suspencion work was and is still being done currently, sway bar, pan-hard bars, etc etc

this thread is hilarious.. talking about their riced out rice modieals running mid/high 11s and such
People like you are funny. You see the high school kids that know nothing about how to build a car, and just assume that all import drivers have just as little a clue. There's actually quite a few "ricer" cars out there that run in the 9's and 10's. Ever hear of a car called the Supra?? How about the RX-7?? Hell, I've seen Acura Integras do in the 10's.

You kids these days thinking spray is going to drop seconds... especialy just a 50 shot, you need to take more things into account other then just lets spray a shit load of nos in there and we'll have an 11 second car! That engine is not capiable of that on a more then once basis, i dont think the talons recieved iron blocks, or forged pistons, etc.. so unless he put them in himself (at least $400) its not going to be able to take anything close to that type of stress, thats beside the point though, a 50 shot of spray isnt going to knock of 3 seconds

No, i realize american muscle isnt the only answer, i know its very possable to have a 10/11 second car, but with some work.. especialy with a talon. I just know this kid didnt do any of that work and probably doesnt even have half the cash to get the parts to start on that type of work that needs to be done to have an 11 second talon, so he says he goes to the track on a regular basis and has an 11 second car and thats what makes him just another ricer, thinking just becuase his car makes a real high pitched sound hes fast

Actually the ones around me sound more like a 5hp Briggs and Stratton lawn mower. Pep Boy's Fart Can exhaust tip FTL.

Id love to hear some lawn mower sounding cars around me.. out here it sounds more high pitched then anything, kinda rattles your balls inside your pants when your in the car when they go by...

And around here they seem to think a triple decker aluminum wing on a stock ragged out saturn or civic will make the car go faster. And let's not forget the sticker power. Did you know every sticker on your car is good for another 5hp???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsdown.gif.d22f25895e9b40f2300c953691dacfa2.gif

How about really big stickers such as the one in my avatar? How many HP you figure that one's good for?

No, I'm not naive enough to think that the one has anything to do with the other ~ it's a rhetorical question //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I highly doubt he is in the 11's as well. Is it possible? Yes, of course it is, but not with out a shit ton of work done to it. He isnt getting there with just some bolt on's and a 50 shot of NOS. Just not feesable. My buddy had a 93 AWD talon with the turbo on it and a shit ton of work done to it. I say he had around 4g's wrapped up into just the eng. He was running high 13's 99% of the time. One time because of the track condition's he hit low 13's, but besides that he has always been high 13's. Still fast, but it would take a lot more money and effort to pull 11's out of that.

You guys obviously have no real experience with DSMs, I have been working on them for years. You do realize that the stock block can run up to 400-500 horses without any internal mods. Put that much power on an AWD car and it is NOT hard at all to run 11's. I did all the work to my car myself. If you really must know how much work I did. Turbo upgrade (20g), 650cc injectors, Full exhaust with dump tube, Walbro 255 pump, Intake, DSMlink for tuning, Greddy BOV, Bigger intercooler pipes, AFPR, HKS 272 cams, ACT 2600 clutch, tial exteranl wastegate, larger exhaust manifold. Thats about all I can think of off the top of my head. Brand new you are looking at about 4 grand with of stuff about.. give or take 1g. You can easily get this 2nd hand or on clearance and only spend half that. It's not hard to get good times in the 1/4 when you can easily throw down a 1.6 60ft.

If you really don't think these cars don't put the numbers down here you go.

Yeah shepard puts down a 7.7@188 1/4 mile with an entire website to prove it in an Eagle talon.

Give me a 1st gen DSM and I can run 12's with less than 2grand
