My current Hifonics TXi1008D is trash pretty much. The amplifier seems pretty doesn't output the amount of power it is suppose to without the use of the remote bass boost. I noticed this when I was setting the gains on the amplifier and without the bass boost being adjusted, I couldn't get the amplifier to push out more than 0.2v.
This would also explain the reason why no bass was audible unless the bass boost was set to max. Unfortunately with the bass boost on max, there is a large amount of clipping, single notes sound like double notes and other forms of distortion are evident.
So Ive been planning to upgrade my entire system pretty much, from CVT's to CVX's, Hifonics Titan Txi1008D amplifier to Hifonics Brutus BXi1606D, upgrade the wiring to 0/1 gauge split to 4awg in place of the current 4awg to 8awg, and upgrade the Big 3.
Now that I have a good foundation of cash to start this project. I wonder what would be the best first purchase to make.
Here are my choices:
Budget: Roughly $350
Purchase(1)
1/0 Power Cable For Big 3 - 81.25
Split-Loom For Big 3 - 14.99
FuseHolder For Big 3 - 19.99
2x Battery Terminals - 37.98
2x KonFused Distribution Blocks - 14.99 x2
Total: Around $185
Notes: Though this purchase would leave me with a lot more left over cash and the wiring does play a key role in the foundation of this new project. Aspects such as the new 1/0awg wire for the amplifier and whatnot is not currently compatible with current Hifonics Txi1008d amplifier's 8awg inputs.
Purchase(2)
Hifonics Bxi1606D Mono-Channel Amp - 211.85
Notes: The only real downside to purchasing this first is that the amplifier may not be fed enough power by the 4awg to 8awg wiring and the supposed 750w rms & 1-ohm power output that it claims could easily overpower and/or blow the current CVT's and their 450w rms & 1-ohm.
Purchase(3)
2x Kicker CompVX 12" 2-Ohm Subwoofers- Bookmarked - 329.95
Custom-built Truck enclosure - ???
Notes: Buying this first wouldn't make much sense at all. It would leave me with less money to build off of and the current faulty amplifier wouldn't be able to supply it with the power it needs to do much of anything.
Purchase(4)
RAAMAT Deadening Material - 118.96
Ensolite™ MLC - 14.99
V&S Spray Adhesive - 25
Total: $155-$160
Notes: This is deadening material for the current components set, would leave me with an adequate amount of cash left but its just a deadening material upgrade, something that isn't exactly mostly needed atm. The comps sound great, though the midbass could be a bit louder(with deadening, supposedly there will be an added thump). I heard RAAMAT is a reputable brand and product.
Or I just continue saving up and buy them all around the same or something along the lines of that.
