Like I said, my friend didn't even SEE him. He told me well in advance to get off at such and such exit, and when it was coming up, told me to get off there.

Yeah he told me if I go to court they'll most likely plead it out to something lesser and make me go to defensive driving.

I don't have a problem dealing with the ticket, I was speeding, and I got caught, I'll pay the consequences.

But this guy straight up lying to the delegate about another cop over something so minimal is what pisses me off.

Tis true. They don't need to tell you the truth until they have read the Miranda Rights. They can pull you over for any reason and make up an excuse for it. I know this because a friend of mine has relatives as police officers as CHP (California Highway Patrol). They can be big time jerks too, such as being in the carpool lane and telling the person to exit the carpool lane and then busting them for pulling out of the carpool lane illegally even when being told to do so. Sad that some people are like that. Not all cops are bad, I've had a few let me go, but some, no matter how nice you are, are assholes.

Even if your friend did tell you to avoid the cop (i know he didn't), why in the hell would either of you bring it up to him? sounds like he was just being a dick and twisting what you said all the way around.

worst case scenerio you have to pay a fine and goto driving class. who knows maybe it'll get dropped due to you knowing someone thats a cop.

That's what boggles both of our minds.

When the delegate called him back, he was like, "1. Did you tell him you were trying to avoid him?', which my friend said of course not, and "2.Why in the hell would you even say that?"

The delegate told my friend the guy is an ******* and is lying.

I told my friend I hope one day he pulls him over, and when this douchebag tells my friend he's a Nassau County Highway Patrol officer, my friend turns to him, "That's good for you. Here's your ticket, shitbag."

that sucks. luckily you had a cop with you on your side, most people dont. Just like that guy with the camera, they lied on him instantly sayin they could say he was resisting arrest. Until they found out he had a camera.

in fact, im glad to see you saying "i know i was speeding, ill take the ticket". it just irks me a little bit that when you got pulled over your friends says "im an off duty cop" likes its a free get out of jail card. thats all. nothing against you.
