SO much for the type r/TCAB hype. blew sub and components

You do understand some distortion is inaudible, right?
well i suppose their is always some distortion, there is no perfect sound, but since the gains were set correctly with no audible distortion, i believe their was not much at all

my components were getting around 80 rms from the avionnixx 440.4, the 12" type r was getting probably around 1200 watts from a bd1500.
That's twice the rated RMS power handling. How is that even remotely close to manufacturer rated power?

there was no distortion or clipping.
Prove it. Show me a screenshot of the o-scope you used to set the gain and bass boost (if any)/etc signifying there was "no distortion or clipping".

So far all you've proven is that you are deaf and do not know how to properly setup any equipment, given that you blew both a sub and a set of components in a single weekend.

User error. End of story.

why it be thatt evrytime i b post try n to help a ***** out yall be hatin on a *****. i just found som product that work good that b cheap too , just like yo type r shit. these lanzars be underratted, and yo just b overlooking they stuf ya mean? tehy only rated at 500 max a piece but i givin them 1000 maz per sub, that mean they b severerely underratted
I hope your subs are better than your grammar.

they were not distorting at all, and maybe the sub was over powered but my components were not, they were getting a clean 80 watts rms
I cannot believe a sub receiving over TWICE its rated power would not be distorting at all, the type R is a pretty amazing sub if it can as far as i'm concerned.

i had no audible distortion and i doubt many of you use an o scope to set your gains. and it is not liek i just installed all this stuff this weekend, i have had the components for a few months, they just decided to crap out at teh same time as my friend's sub. also understand i did not install both of these systems, the sub is not mine.

and i doubt many of you use an o scope to set your gains.
The ones that want to know if they're truly distorting the amp do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Your standing to say "so much for the Type R hype" never really was there to begin with...

So you ride around with it to make sure your not clipping? All music is different.

Music is incapable of going past -0 dB without being distorted from it's source, in which case it's not distortion to the amp, it's part of the preout signal that it's properly amplifying without distortion. You can set an amp to play without distortion caused by the gain setting. Especially with music.

Anyway, back to topic, over 2x it's rated RMS power? Who's subs do you think you're running, IAs? Type Rs weren't built to handle it, that's why the RMS power handling is rated 500 watts, and not 700, 900, or 1000 watts.
