i keep my head unit at -2 to keep my door speakers from distorting. then set the gains after that. my it doesnt hit the voltage even with the gain all the way up because i dont like my music too loud so i have to bass boost it and set the gain down to get the voltage right. i listen at like 20 out of 50.

You should set you volume to 75% of max to set your gains. Your losing alot of your preout voltage by doing it at 20. Try setting your gains at 38-40 on your HU.
