so i set the gains...

so i set the gains on my amp.. and doesnt bump much.. set up is 2 12" memphis hpo's in a ported box. amp is a cerwin vega 1000d wired at 1 ohm. i use the dmm and set the gains to 31.6.. a lil more than half way on the gains.

so in the end.. doesnt seem like its at its full potential. what could i have done wrong? could it be the settings on the head unit?.. when i turn the gains up it sounds good, but still not great.

what freq did you use to set the gain? that is the correct voltage you should have

and what hu do you have?

maybe the box?

or it could just be the songs... run a low frequency 0db test tone cd and see if it hits at all - or you could also tune using a -3db or -6d test tones but depeding on the ratings (didnt look em up) might dmg equipment

start with 0db 45hz or 50hz. maybe they're underpowered? wrong enclosure size?

i dont think it would be the enclosure because i had they same system setup before, i just upgraded to a new amp. same box, subs and headunit still in use.

+4 is likely too high already, probably clipping the signal.
