Smart phone apps.

The other day, just for giggles, I was on my iphone at the app store and I looked up car audio apps. Low and behold there are a few. For free. One from JL and the other was from Rockfor Fosgate. I downloaded both and have been playing with them. Pretty cool! Kind of fun. I was wondering if any of you guys have this and if so, is the spl reader even remotely accurate? I played my radio fairly loud on my way in this am and it showed 101 on the JL and 105 on the Rockford.
not sure how accurate it can be, but there ability to adjust the sensitivity on it. It would be nice to gauge it to a real RTA
Maybe @West ; can do a comparison.

I can try the rta gear I have vs. the iphone spl app I have, but I would not trust the iphone lol.
I would be more interested in how the android app performs. I haven't looked at any of them yet, though. I assumed it would all be a fail, due to crap mics in cell's.

I know they made some major firmware changes in iOS6 that took care of the attenuation of 80Hz and under tones. I've had relatively good success tuning my system using JL's app. It's no way in hell dead on accurate, but it's a better gauge then a pair of untrained ears. I actually managed to lift and push my sound stage a little forward using it, but without moving my tweets up and playing with phase, I'm not over the hood and beyond the side view mirrors yet.

@West ; I'm interested in your comparison as well. Could be what determines if I ask someone from the family to gift me TrueRTA this year.

Pm me on the trueRTA software. I might be able to get you hooked up.

^This!

The results would be cool to know. Then the next question would be which is actually correct... LOL
