New to making boxes just wanted some input on whether everything sounds good

I just bought a American Bass HD 15 and a American Bass Ph 4000 MD Amp. It came with an enclosure but I cannot get it to fit. I figured I would finally try to build an enclosure for myself I have been lurking for a while and this site seems to have a pretty good knowledge base and got me going building a box with sketchup and using torres box tuning calculator I think I have everything figured out but was wanting some opinions on what else could be done to make it better or something I should change before I build it (which will be the week after Christmas if things slow down a little at work). Thanks in advance for any advice or replies.

That's really too small of a box for these subs. I wouldn't put them in less than 4cf. Tuning would work well though. I don't think I've ever seen someone unhappy with one of these in 4cf tuned to 35hz with 50-70 in^2 of port. Box design looks solid though; very nice for your first attempt.

Yea I was told to get 3.5-3.75cf for the enclosure but space is limited in my trunk and the height is maxed but the width can go another 1 1/2" but depth I might be able to squeeze in a little bit more but then I might run into building part of the box in the trunk which won't be much fun at all. I am also wondering if there might be another way to port so that I can get the right configuration so it will sound good. I like the way most of the L ports sound but am not sure if there is something else that might work better for the space I have available to me. I might be able to get some more height if I change out the 6x9s in the rear decklid and going with a shallow mount but not sure if the cost/benefit would be worth it for the small gain I would get. But then again I also hear people say that they hit really hard in a 2.5cf box so I'm puzzled with the setup to run. The manufacturer doesn't give a recommended enclosure and I can't seem to find many people with these subs that truly know what size their box is, because they had someone make it for them. Would love some opinions on this.

P.S. For a slot-ported box, I really don't think that much bracing is necessary. I mean, too much won't hurt - but for a little more internal volume, you could do without a lot of those braces.
