Depends on your definition of loud. That small hatchback won't need much to be heard from a block away.

My old Golf could be heard from a 1/4 mile away

those three tens will have more cone area than the four 8's. You could put more power to 4 8s, but like I said the 4 10s can push more air.

Just my two cents but I have a honda fit (similar) and I ran a single 15 for a week on 1500 and then four sundown sa8s on an AQ2200 at .5 ohm. ****. WAS. RETARDED.

You could put more power to 4 8s

Dont bank on it. Most 8's are restricted in coil size due to spider size limitations. One of many reasons why three 10's > four 8's.

I was speaking in terms of 8" and 10" subs from the same subwoofer lines, it would be very easy to give more power to 10" subs in general because there are very few 8's that will go over 1k, there are plenty of 10s that will go 1500 and up.

how is that a made-up situation? I thought it was pretty obvious that he was wanting opinion on 3 TC Epic 10's versus 4 TC Epic 8's, or 3 SA-10's to 4 SA-8's, ect.

Because it's loud and when you turn it up the sound travels? Otherwise we'd all be rocking stock stereos and be discussing about who has the loudest stock stereo.

I understand that the 8's naturally take less power, but i was saying 4 8's at 500 RMS will take more power than 3 10s at 500 RMS, since i was under the impression we were comparing subwoofers in the same line.
