slot vs. aeroports

id definately go with a 4"
you know what doesn't make sense to me... bigger port = long port ?? in any case ok.. I'll make it 4... is bigger better? and why?

then you make two 4" ports and BB6P wants them even longer... it seems to me a second port would half their length...

anyways I'm going to run along to calc class...

yeah thats the catch, if you double the number of ports, it usually wants to double each one's lenght...but that gives you more port area, which is what you want...

so its ALWAYS a compromise...thats why this whole question started in the first place...

more port area raises tuning, so you must have a longer port to get the same tuning as a smaller one with less port area

ahh ic... hmm... but more port area is desirable? and why? to eliminate port noise?

so 2 4" ports that are 30" long in a 3.3cu ft box is better, tuned at 25.5hz

why are you not wanting to get the precision ports? you can use thin wall pvc with those flanges if you sand on the ends of the pvc a little bit..

you can buy just the flanges direct from precision.

the program is telling me I need 30" ports for my tuning... and I couldn't find PP long enough at PE

thats what i was thinking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...but, yeah..just get some 4" thin wall from hd/lowes..just sand the ends till the ring that couples that tube and flare together slips over..
