My dad wants a new HU, but something sleek looking. Its in a 02 acura tl s. Something with a dedicated volume knob, and needs an aux port but that can be on the back if needed. I think double din would look better and maximize space but suggest either! sorry its vague, he just wants something new since his stock ones cd player broke

I hate to say it but you will have to make a custum double din dash kit for that car because you can not buy them anywhere. I've seen it done it's not that hard and well worth the time and effort but if you are looking for a quick replacement go single din and it will be alot easier.

As far as a good headunit everyone hear will tell you that you can not beat Alpine. Also almost every radio now comes with the Aux input.

nah thats teh closest i could get to a pic. i have non nav

also under 300 if possible. i dont need dvd or nav, just a nice sleek looking double din model

You should go with a lower line of Alpine, or Pioneer. They both make solid head units. Pioneer has a micro-fuse problem that they refuse to fix... but, if you are just going to be using it to power co-axials, you don't need to worry. But, quite honestly... you can go to Walmart or something and get one of those. Head units don't break unless human error. However, for a nice sleek look, the Pioneer units have a NIIICE look to 'em now a days. Check them out. I love my P6900UB. USB, Aux, 7-Band EQ.

Just remember to turn Loudness off and set the EQ to something less than what it's at when you first power it on. Most head units will make it so that the EQ is powerful with Loudness on, so you end up shitting yourself. But it rocks your speaker's coils.

bolded is okay.

avoid everything else.

turns out noone makes dash kits for double din ones. oen single din. except for a guy who does em custom for a hundred bucks but i cant afford that ontop of a nice double din

get a quality alpine unit...i have the 9811 which one of their simple models

but work really well and even my parents can use them with ease

unlike my old pioneer deh 6800

They are not hard to make at all. Its too bad Im not in Dallas right now or I would have made one for you.

Or for a single din I just bought my dad a Kenwood bt838u and he is happy with it and its pretty easy to use.
