Sky High wire is too ******* big

If you need 5/16 I would look at some reputable sellers on eBay. SHCA only sells 3/8 from what i see. The lugs above are nice. but I doubt you need 20 lolol.

How much are they tinned (like how thick)? I like a plain copper surface for the connection. I guess on less than 3k, it wouldn't matter though.

Tinning the surface would probably reduce corrosion

That's why they tin copper. So it doesn't oxidize.

Can you guys give me some tips on crimping I bought a hydraulic crimper but its hard like I put the wire in the terminal, there's always some wire that doesn't make it in, I try to crimp it but the terminal always falls off mid crimp its like I need three hands....

Solder. Go buy some flux solder from lowes $12 and a small handheld torch while you are there. $3. You can even use your outside grill.

idk I just put the solder to the terminal and hit it with the iron and melted it but it always broke off

We had some stuff we had to do around the house and used this 4 Guage OFC from lowes. This is how we soldered them. lol. Redneckin it.

i came across a similar problem last night while trying to make my big 3. **** won't cut darn it! its impossible to cut this **** cable! do you guys really buy a $50 pair of scissors for this?!

I'm getting the 2/0 OFC for my build. I can't believe you're complaining that the wire is too big! Usually, its the opposite!
You only bought 6 feet. Quit being a cheap a$$ and buy some new copper lugs. You spent how much on the rest of the system, but want to skimp and buy the cheapest terminals to save a few bucks.

For the rest of us, we like that SHCA wire is bigger

actually, not really. Sky High 1/0 was too big where I couldn't run it in the same spot as I ran my 2awg welding cable.

I like the welding better anyways. Cheaper than Sky High CCA
