Size speaker wire for components

What gauge speaker wire do most people use to run components back to the amp?

Do most people use CCA or OFC? I know with power wire a lot use ofc, but also a lot use cca. I am just curious to know if it's relatively the same with door speakers or what.

12 or 14 gauge would be fine. It's not like you will REALLY hear the difference. I've used both and couldn't tell the difference. In currently using CCA. PM me if you need some. I got 60ft of Shok 12ga to sell.

 
Length comes into play, but since wire length in a car is generally pretty predictable it's mainly about power and impedance.

A lot of power, especially at low impedance means a lot of current. A lot of current through small wire means a lot of voltage drop and that is bad.

Haven't really dealt with CCA speaker wire, but if it's accounted for in wire thickness like it is with power it will work fine for speaker wire too as long as you select the correct awg.
