big 3 upgrade

Most cars no. But it won't hurt. You'll need to see if when you play your system if the lights dim. If so then yes. I know on my gmc truck I needed to with 500 rms

for 1000 rms you would be well served to do a big three and a decent battery at the least imho. Might even look into getting an HO alt just for some futrure proofing.

I ran 1500w rms on a stock 130A alt.

It ran fine in general. I had minor dimming at high volume.

I added an 8 awg from batt to alt and from batt to chassis ground.

There was no measurable improvement.

In most cases I think wiring mods at ~1000w will make little if any difference.

If there are noticeable improvements at that level of power - the car probably needed them regardless of aftermarket electronics.
