for 1/0 gauge wire, what size sleeve should i get???

thinking about this.... looks expensive though and i don't think car engines exceed 300F?

You don't need that. Your wire isn't gonna be lying on the engine or headers or anything. Just get some regular split loom from home depot or a automotive store.

my wire from my alt to my positive battery terminal is.... ( and i have loom it came with thekit, but its plastic :S

Most split loom under the hood is plastic, yet it is not close to the heated components of the engine.If you are not close to the engine heated components, you can use that, as it is somewhat a protective measure fore the wire from vibrating,and rubbing against and creating an exposure of the wiring.If not , I wouldnt use it.Probrably not needed, unless you just want to take the precaution, in which is up to you, and it is your vehicle to do as you please
