size of fuses ?

Hey guys,Does the size of the fuses matters if I want to run around 2,000 watts rms ?
If the amplifier has it's own internal fuse, then the fuse under the battery is only there to protect the wire and as such needs to be fused based on the gauge of your power wire.

and how far from the battery should the fuse holder be ?
18" is a pretty arbitrary figure. I've heard it stated that it was just a number David Navone pulled out of the air at one time..and it has just been continually passed around ever since (not sure if there's any truth to this particular story...but it doesn't negate the fact that 18" is just some arbitrary # with no real reasoning behind it).

You want it as physically close to the battery terminal as possible with as little wire between the battery terminal and the fuse holder as possible.

Again; The fuse at the distro block should be fused based on the gauge of the outgoing wire it is protecting if the amp has it's own internal fuse.
He is using 1/0 gage wire so 250-300amp fuse will be just fine.

No, if the distro block has, say, 1/0 input and two 4ga outputs, then you should fuse to the 4 gauge wire. That is ~130 amps.
150 Amps on 4 gage wire is fine.
