Since caco went down

when caco went down i came here
i love caco, because there are more knowledgable and eager to help people than on here even though this site has alot more traffic and alot more members. it just seems that most of the posts on this site dont really stay on topic and the simplest of threads can become 30 pages long in just a short time. i also REALLY like how caco had sorted the classifieds, it makes it much easier to search for a decent mono amp than looking through pages of the random classified adds.

ca.com is better than before, faster, not as many arguments about nothing, but i think it still needs more structure to it.

that would be my opinion on ca.com
This is something I have wanted for years.

I've heard a few mention creating a "Newb 101" forum?
To be honest I dont think thats necessary. With a newb 101 section most of the members would go in there and say "Go read this thread in another section" so the new people would go there and end up getting flamed there. Id put in place more of an infraction type system. First time is a warning, second time is a 3 day ban, third time is a week, and the 4th your IP banned.

well jump on it sheriff

you have many LONG nights ahead of you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

but it would be nice to see more order to all the chaos that is ca.com

With the traffic of this site, it would require more than just a couple people. They'd also all have to be on the same page. We'd also need a very specific set of rules that leave no questions.

When a mod has to delete posts there should be some kind of consequenses. If the posts just get deleted the person just does the same thing over, and over. There should be some sort of "points" system.Just like most other rules make each step more severe until the person gets banned.

Having mods that patrol certain sections seems to keep things a little more in order (in my opinion).

I see some people only post on here to troll, and start trouble.Nothing to contribute. Some are under the impression that they are ABOVE the rules. Are those people what the site really needs to prosper?

A "new member 101" section could really work out.As long as it contains a wide variety of the basics (ohm load, parallel, series, big 3,slot vs. aero, wire gauge,batteries,capacitor,etc,etc...) without the trolling.Just basic information would stop A LOT of duplicate questions.

Some like the current classifieds section, but I am in favor of splitting it up into categories.Makes it easier to find particular items,or at least watch for them.Any item without a picture with date, and user name should be deleted. That should help on discouraging scammers.Closing/locking the already sold items would helpful also.

Just my 2 cents.

Unfortunately some people are above the rules, at least thats what i was told when i became a mod, they told me no matter what the few people did, dont do anything about it or it will make it worse.
