simple speaker wire question

Does the length of the speaker wires matter (from the amp to the sub)? Does having the wire cut shorter have any benefits?

Here's a picture of my amp, so I can cut the speaker wire a bit shorter (but if there's no benefits, I won't bother).

i personnally try to keep all my wires as short as possible just for a cleaner install
