Should you ISP advertise where you live?

ok, i just realized that my campus DNS hostname quite literally maps to my address. it seems to be:

cvXXX-cv.siue.edu

where XXX is my apartment number and YYY seems to the last 3 digits of my IP...

I usderstand why my campus ISP may want to identify rooms and jacks for IT reasons, but its not a huge jump for any lameass kid to realize where i live. looking up siue.edu and looking at the map will show that CV refers to the apartments, and that XXX is an apartment number.

still with only my first name, someone could find where i live just by looking at a whois on IRC...

i'm fairly upset about this.

Go wireless...

I could find out where you live without knowing your ISP or your Apt number. Feel safer now?
explain? i'm assuming it would take at least some effort. not like the current situation which broadcast's my address to the world.
