hi

just wondering

should the "head" unit /cd player

be used to power the FRONT speakers or the REAR speakers?

im going to buy these

FRONT:

2 x Pioneer TS C160R (260W) - componet speaker

http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/car_entertainment/speakers/tsc160r/index.html

RMS power required = 60W

REAR:

2 x Pioneer TS D690R (330W) - 2way speaker

http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/car_entertainment/speakers/tsd690r/index.html

RMS POWER required = 80W

Amplifers

1 x "Pioneer GM-6000F"

http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/car_entertainment/amplifiers/gm6000f/index.html

1 x pioneer cd player (forgot the model)

headunit internal amp - 50watts x 4.

I have two options

option 1 cd player powers REAR speakers

and

GM-6000F powers Front speakers

option 2 cd player powers FRONT speakers

and

GM-6000F powers REAR speakers

which should it be?

which is the best options and why?

does it matter / does it make a differences?

Edit: re-worded

why do you want to run one set off the head unit and one set off the amp? why not all 4 off the amp? Your amp is 50wx4. component set is 60wrms and 6x9s are 80w. I think it should be fine. unless im missing something

That should work!

but would it sound good tho

im 80w short?

deck is

50wx 4 = 200w amp

all speakers 60x2, 80x2 = 280w rms.?

If you're not using the rear channels of the amplifier to power a subwoofer, use the amplifier to power all 4 speakers ....
yes

I think i do this and dont need an external amp???

still sound ok?

as for the sub woofer

going to use these

REAR (SUB WOOFERS):

2 x 12" PIONEER Subs TS-W304C 300W RMS****

****powered by 1 x Pioneer GM D510M Amplifier

note: not a pioneer freak but its cheap! and sounds good.

Ok maybe i misread, i thought you were going to use the 6000F to run your speakers thats what i meant with the 50x4rms(your 600f). If you do, sound good? its all up to opinion. A lot of people say you only need front stage. But for me when im driving and listening to music i have a setting that keeps the rear low, and since i spend a lot of time in the back seat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif , mostly playin ps2 or listening to movies i felt i needed the speakers back there and theres a different setting i use for that. (the settings of my pioneer is the only good thing about it right now). But its all up to your needs and opinions......thats my opinion.

The head unit is nowhwere near 4 x 50 watts ... more like 4 x 18 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
hmmm

it says in the manual 50w MAX power output

and 22w continous power output //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

ahh sorry got confused

so i need that amplifer after all.

actually its a 2 seater (300zx) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

maybe its enought power already

dont really want to kill myself in it ;-)

50 max is ... well, just a flat-out lie ...
22 continuous isn't, but it's misleading because it's rated @ 5% THD (see audible distortion)

In reality, you're looking at 17-18 watts per channel of clean, continuous output ...
thanks...for the info :)

Did you buy all this stuff already or are you just considering buying it? Im looking at a chart for your car, and in the side panel it can fit 4s or 4x6s, you might wanna check that out. I mean that is just for easy fitting. I think somebody is gonna say you dont need rear fill for your car, which your probly dont. But if you bought everything already yo umight as well use it, if you cant do anything else with it.
