Should I upgrade units?

I have an older Kenwood KDC-MP425, and I have a couple issues. One is it skips, not all that bad though. Second it doesn't pick up FM stations very well, or not nearly as well as my factory deck. I've seen the specs on FM sensitivity, does FM sensitivity mean a whole lot. This one is 9.3 dbf, which I thought was good. Would something that has an 8 dbf FM sensitivity make a huge difference in FM reception? Also would getting something with 4 volts, instead of the 2 volts make a huge difference. I like the KDC-X591, because it's in my price range and has cool features.
