Should I stick with JL Audio & Focal or should I consider other brands?

I talked to the guy I'm buying the equipment from and I asked him for his opinion. I'm trying to gather up some last minute opinions because I plan to make my purchase this weekend. He was telling me that JL Audio and Focal is good stuff, expensive, but not as durable as other brands. He stated that I will blow my Focals within the year. I even asked him about JL Audio components and he said no way, they're even worse. A big headache. Anyhow, so he suggested for the money I'm already spending that he would use Treo. Have you guys ever heard of Trio? This is the setup he recommended:

(2) SSI 10.44 (750 watts rms each)

(1) SSXD1500.1

(2) TS6.5 (front & rear since there's little cost between coaxles)

I'd say go with a nice set of cdt's.

6.5" M6 drivers

4" hd-4

1" tweeters drt-25 or drt-26 silk

es/hd300 crossover or Satnet642 if you are on a budget

Treo's a good company, pretty known around this forum

as for the Focal/JL's not being durable... i dunno about that

Well I am putting in both those amps right now. And I have had them in another vehicle and they were great. Also I have them in an f250 supercrew and its good as well. the 500 is a minimal amount of power to me now but both very solid amps.

I also ran 3 10w3's in a ported enclosure about 4cu ft(guess). Hit hard and clear.

I dont know about focal's But I have heard they are good.

Just let me know what kinda enclosure you are planning on.

jl audio is solid. I know that for a fact.

focal, I can't vouche for. never heard any focal products.

that seems like a solid system.... if i had the money, i would switch my hifonics and buy a 500/1 for my single 12w3v3

ive used 3w3v2's and was happy with them....so im sure the w3v3's are better

JL's are very long lasting. Focals do have some issues with quality from what I have seen in the one install I used them in.

Get a 1000/1 for 3 w3v3's.
