Should I stay or should I change?

I just got 3 12w6v2's. They are 400wrms and dual 4. So my wiring options are .66ohms or 2.66 ohms.

My current amp, Concept cd-2410, is rated at 1200w at 2 ohms and 2400 at 1 ohm. I have heard that my amp can be brought down to 1/2 ohm and still run good.

Should I sell the amp I have now and get a new one that puts out 1500 @ 2 ohms?? Or should I keep the one I have and run it at 2.66 or .66?

This is just my opinion but I would get something different that will give you the power you need at 2.66 ohms. Your current amp may run at 1/2 ohm but who knows how long it will last and if it starts distorting or even clipping you can kiss your new subs goodbye. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

sell the concept and get a usamp that goes to 1/2ohm. Just a suggestion.

I'd keep the current amp and run it at 2.66ohm. Heck, you have the amp and your subs.....hook 'em up and see what you think. If you aren't satisified, then look for something else.

thats what i was thinking... Any one have any suggestions for a 1500w amp at 2 ohms in case i may need one?

why didn't you get dual 6 ohm drivers (can be wired to 4ohms or 1ohm).

you would have better amp options as well.

other than that see how your amp does at 2.66ohms and if you like it, isn't that all that matters?

They only come in dual 4, plus i bought them used. I was thinking about porting them, because I heard that if you port them they will get louder with less power. Is this true?

The only one of those amps I've ever heard was in my local audio dealers display vehicle the mtx 1501d. And the amp was connected to a 12" mtx 9500 w/ dual 4 ohm voice coils and it was extremely loud.

Of those, my first two choices would be the MTX and the PG, followed by the JBL and the PA last.

Rockford Fosgate Power T15002. It is 1500 watts @ 2ohms and it is highly underrated

the MTX mentioned earlier is a very solid amp, or look into the RF 1501, can get them for a good price now
