Hey everyone, wanted to get some opinions. Im looking at Clif Designs amps and Im thinking Im going to use this one for my subs:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797&item=5725259509&rd=1

I am going to be running dual DVC 10's that are rated at 400W RMS and 800W peak. That amp is rated at

RMS Power @ 14.4V

4 Ohm 750W

2 Ohm 1000W

1 Ohm 1500W

MAX Power @ 14.4V

4 Ohm 1000W

2 Ohm 1500W

1 Ohm 1800W

Seeing as how this amp is underrated am I better off running it at 1 ohm since it probably wont come that close the the 1500W RMS rating?

Let me know what you think!!! Thanks! :boobies:

wait you got 400WRMS subs and your gonna run 1500WRMS? and underated mean it will actually put out more power than it says....... i would run it at 4 ohms its cleaner power you wont have to worry about blowing your subs....

Power....clean....hmmm. Now i take physics and we have never talked about clean power. Can you refresh me on this one? I must be running dirty watts since my amp is running at 2 ohms....but atleast i am not running it at 1 ohm, thats where it gets real dirty. Whatever

Ok...as for helping you Darren. I would see what coil setup you have on those subs that way you can maybe wire it at 2 ohms. Usually subs that are rated at 400 wont thermally handle 750. Now...at 2 ohms, that would put 500 to them, so that sounds better. Maybe be careful with ur gains dependent on enclosure. Read up on what the subs can really take.

Also, i have never heard of those amps. Maybe you might wanna look into a company someone can advise you on. Ike Sound has amazing prices and carries some great amps. Just some advice. Oh, and maybe you should call the company and ask if their amps put off dirty watts or clean watts.

hey norcal if you want me to explain what i meant about clean power or whatever why dont you ask me instead of saying. stupid shit like

Oh, and maybe you should call the company and ask if their amps put off dirty watts or clean watts.
what i meant was if that amp has a high THD level then running it at 1 ohm puts more distortion into the speaker which in the long run can kill subwoofers.

so "cleaner" or clearer would be lower distortion. sorry if you could not figure that out.
