hi

in the rear of my car, im putting new 6x9's in. however, i notice i get that punching, hollow sound when the volume is up. i want to deaden the inside of the speaker hole to get less vibration.

should i just apply some SS or edead to the surface that you can touch by putting your hand thru the hole and apply some pieces to the metal?

thx

im not trying to be a dick, but you didnt post what brand/model 6x9's....you didnt mention what kind of car, you diddnt mention what kind of power your pushing it with and you didnt explain your goals for your application.

Plus after re-reading your post 3-4 times, im still not sure WTF your asking.

not tryon to be a dick either, but the question isnt what amp im running or brands, its a sound deadening issue basically

also, the goal is obvious! will placing deadening material behing the 6x9 eliminate that hollow punchy bass that you get in some cars?

also, if you had to read my question 4 times, maybe school is an option

ok, time for me to be a dick.

If you werent such a fvcking noobtard, you'd know you should put baffles behind your peice of sh!t 6x9's anyways. And while im at it, let me school you kid about some goals, why dont you get some real speakers and then worry about deadening them. Then you've bought some mediocre subwoofers on what little money your parents give you, you can try another forum where you can communicate with lower primates like yourself where you can use completely clear expressive terms like "hollow punchy bass" and the like to explain your lack of knowing sh!t about car audio in general.

So next time, before you attempt to post something, gather your incoherient thoughts up, shuffle them into a few words that make sense....then post a thread on some other fourm....because we're all full on stupid here at caraudio.com, we dont need anymore people like you.

"I ain't .....

you know nothing about what equipment i have, so get a life. tell me einstein, how am i supposed to describe sound. let me here some of your adjectives, haha!! i guess it'll take a while. ill be back in 5 hours to see what word you found

what a jackass
x2 ... more useless threads courtesy of the noobs.... it would of been one thing if it was a decent question, but sh!t man, its fvcking common sense.

The kentucky thing is funny though, thats usually the last resort of someone who cant find any decent material to talk trash about.

Funny thing was, I was trying to help him and he peed on me, and people wonder why this fourm is going down hill so bad. Oh well thats the last time I help a noob.

hmmm you've been here 6 months and the thread poster has been here a year and a half....

anyways just add the deadening and see if it helps. no harm in trying it if you have some deadening left over. they also make deflex pads you can use to put behind speakers

type of speakers/power could help since some speakers just sound bad no matter what you try to do with them.

As for the hollowness try sound deadening the panels and then even try some egg carton foam in there... if the egg carton foam helps then buy some of the actual sound dispersion foam/deflex pad.

x2, but I still don't know what using baffles with the speakers does //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
