i have noticed a slight whineing / ringing sound commeing from the orion 2500d after playing, when i first turn the amp on its not there but after driving a while its there, ringing sound doesnt change with volume or eqing car on or off, it just is there?? any ideas? apart from the 'scary' sound the amp performs very well.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Its the power torrids on the amp board , or the caps ? I had a BD1500.1 that did the same thing . Might be a sign of impending doom .....
anything i can do ? or do i just wait for it to stop working and send it to orion?

yeah dude, sounds like one of your caps is about to assplode....or probably just leak and loose their value. If you have any warranty paperwork with orion, id be keeping it handy.

Capacitors typically make noise, because of their construction and mylar "roll" acts as a really long thin transducer when upper fequencies are applied to it. For example, have you ever just hooked up a small electrolytic capacitor to a channel of an amplifier and turned it up about 1/2 volume? the capacitor actually produces audiable music from it. Peizo electric tweeters work similarly.
