Should I put anything inside my sub box

Yeah then in that case, a good damping material like egg crate or FG would be superior. I was under the impression you were saying overall it's >.

 
in a SEALED box, fill helps bottom end, as it makes the box act like it's larger..
in a PORTED box, fill smooths out peaks

i like the peaks, it doesn't sound natural, but when a song hits one of those sweet spots, it makes me smile

I used 1 sq ft. of 2 inch acoustic foam on the back wall of each of my sub box chambers. I like the way it sounds.

I think it helps with the standing waves in the box.

I also fiberglass resin the insides of all my enclosures to make them as air tight as possible.

While I do have 4 12W6V2's I'm not a bass freak. I like a lot sometimes but most times I keep it pretty even with the rest of the music.
