Should i paint my dash black?

PA090007.jpg

Pic of my dash, i been pondering painting it black and getting rid of the fake wood grain look, plus its starting to flake. I planned on sanding it and using bondo to smooth out those bevels or whatever you would call them, to give it a more modern rounded look. The car will eventually be painted black and parts of the interior are being redone in black too. What would you guys do? I plan on redoing that area in the middle where my voltmeter is too, that will get bondoed and sanded down and painted again if i redo this (its currently a piece of 1/2 mdf sprayed black).

So instead of spending 1-2k on fixing the *****, you bought a newer car/new car and are gonna spend how much? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Eh, ive never really had a thing for new cars. They make them too complicated now to where you cant repair them yourself. Only new car id ever get would be a 04-05 trailblazer or silverado ss, just because theyre badass.

Yea i think it will look much better painted, i will do it this weekend. also gonna mount a small rocker switch beside my radio to turn my sub amps off. Id like to flush mount my volt meter too, maybe ill do that as well. If you look close you can see where theres like a 1/4 stepdown in the gauge trim and radio trim that im gonna fill in with bondo to smooth it out, so itll have a nice contour rather than stepdown. Would you guys think spray paint or brush paint would hold up better on plastic? I used satin black on my dash and it turned out great, brush on.
