Should I get the MTX or Alpine?

I have an Alpine MRV-T503, and I have a couple offers to take, an MTX MXS1204, or a 12" Alpine Type-E? I'm looking for SQ. They both come with a box already, so I'm not going to build one tuned to a specific freq. that I want, I don't even think the setup is worth doing that, it's cheap. Or is it? They both come in a bsaic Q-Logic type sealed box. Anyway, which sub do you think would be better? thanks

Alpine MRV T503

At 12v

2 x 50w RMS @4ohm

2 x 100w RMS @2ohm

Bridged

1 x 200wRMS @4ohm

Type-E

Nominal Power Handling 250 Watt

Technical Features

Peak Power Handling 750 Watt

Frequency Respond 28 Hz - 1,000 Hz

Sensitivity 89 dB

Impedance 4 ohm

MTX MXS1204

Nominal (RMS) Output Power 400 Watt

Max (RMS) Output Power 800 Watt

Response Bandwidth 38 - 150 Hz

Input Impedance 4 Ohm

Recommended Amplifier Power 200 - 400 Watt

Sensitivity 89.09 dB

The Type-E is just Best Buy's rebranded Type-S.

Both subs aren't great by any means. If I remember correctly the sealed Q-Logic boxes are about 0.75 cubes. If the subs are both the same price then take a look at their sealed enclosure recommendations.

If it were me I would just go with the cheaper of the two subs.

Yeah, I was thinking MTX, because I've never liked Alpine subs that much. The only thing that made think about it was the Alpine's 10hz lower response. 38hz seems a little high, for the MTX.

Do you honestly believe that is an audible difference?

i have a Type E soon to be taken out..It was a first setup. Alpine says to give it 1.25 cubes but my box is about 1.5 and i still think it should be bigger. with your amp take a Type E. Its cheap. It sounds pretty nice. Gets pretty loud i guess. go with 1.25-2 cubes for a box if sealed

That being said.. go with the type Es. My Bro has one in a regular cab with less than 1 cube and it sounds oh so nice. Doesn't get all that loud in such a small box, but when it was in 1.2 cubes it was decently loud.
