Should I get one of these over the JL...

I'm looking into JL amps but to be honest their too expensive, so I saw this online and was wondering if it was any good, the Hifonics Brutus BXi 1606D or the Soundstorm D3000SL. Are Hifonics amps any good? I hear the power rating is overrated and that it's really like 80% the power stated. What about the SoundStorm? I'm looking to power 2 - 10" W6v2...

The new hifonics amps do their rated power,the old ones do not.I like mine alot and stay away from soundstorm.

hifonics is your best bet out of what is listed. but to be honest with you....you can get a powerbass asa 1000.1 for 225 shipped and it is highly underated.

Yes it is. Having seen a couple of my friends go through 1606's and 2006's with gains set properly and voltage not dipping below 13 volts, yeah....those amps are crap. I hear about people blowing them on the forums all the time too. You get what you pay for, and with the brutus line, you pay for crap.

What about Kicker? I've had several of their amps going back to the 90's and they always performed very well.

try lookin at the Alpine pdx 1000/1s theyre awesome and put out as much power as the jls amps..retail for half the price..im lookin to run 4 JL W6 12s and im hookin the alpines up one by one

My budget is $300-350 and I'm looking for something that'll push 900 watts @2 ohms.
