Should I do this trade?

Ok so I have a sundown saz1500d v1.

Guy wants to trade:

1. skar VVX V2 15 d4

2. 3.5 f^3 32hz kerf port box

3. RE DTS 1000-1

Now I'm pretty sure the sub alone is worth what I paid for the sundown amp, and that box is really nice.

I want to keep it on stock electrical so the sundown will never get used to it's full potential anyway.

The amp doesn't look like it was mounted to the box at least, this guy probably had a good idea what he was doing. I'd do it.

I want to do it, but I am asking if I shouldn't because of any certain reasons. I'm guessing the amp does it's rated wattage and all that?

The amp is prolly good for about 500 rms should push that woofer ok ...

I had that same exact amp a few years ago. it does close to rated. That skar sub is 4 ohms the lowest your gonna get is 2 ohms and with box/impedance rise your going to probably see only 300-400 rms outta that amp. It'll move the sub but not to the fullest potential, i would not do the trade. I'd rather have quality amps over subs. If it was a D2 sub it would be more worth it. With this trade you'll be underpowered bumping, but you'll be bumping at least, until you get another D4 15 and more power.

Look at the dollar side of all of this. What is the amp and sub worth in trade if you sold it? What's the sundown amp worth by its self? Maybe that'll help?

better yet, whats the real world worth that you can actually sell it for and whats hot on the market. Anyone actually gonna want to buy the box, lower tier RE amp, or skar audio? i know lots of people that would buy the sundown easy.

Right! That's kind of what I was implying.. Plus how fast could you flip stuff?? Probably not too quick compared to selling just the sundown amp alone.

I appreciate all the feedback. I know the amp is nice, but it's overkill for what I need.

I wish I knew for sure whether that RE amp does it's rated wattage at 1 ohm though.

I found an AB 1800w rms @ 1ohm amp for $180 on CL.

I know I could flip pretty much everything he is trading me though. Already have one of my regular CL jobs asking me for a sub amp.

That box is really nice too.

Anyone know anything about this AB amp though? Decent replacement for the sundown? American Bass xd1800
