I recently purchased a car. It is a 1998 Black Camaro with T-tops and the Y3F sport edition package for ground effects and the spoiler. Im really loving the car, relatively low KM and runs great.
Anyways, the car came with 4 Kicker DS60 speakers installed by the previous owner. It also has a Kenwood deck installed (very basic one). I dont know the exact size of the speakers, but they all appear to be nearly the same size. They are round in shape, not oval, and are in the neighborhood of 6" I believe in diameter.
I really dont know much about car audio, or audio in general, so I have some questions.
From what I have read, it seems that installing an amplifier in your car will give you clearer and more powerful sound compared to that of which your cars fuse supplies ( I think ).
I have plans in the future of getting a custom 12" sub box made for above the rear drivers side tire in my car with a pioneer championship pro 3500 watt sub, but for now I just want to see how much I can gain from the amp.
I would like to if possible install it my self so I know for future purposes.
Which amplifier would you guys recommend and why, and do you think I should gain as much knowledge about it as possible and do it myself or have it taken in?
How much power/rms ?
Thanks alot, Keith
