Bought a used Memphis MC2004 50x4 for my doors and the minute the an audio place hooked it up it went POP and smoked. I hooked my old amp back up and it worked fine. I then took it back to the other audio place and told him what happened. He said no prob. come back August 21 and pic up the brand new model MC 2004 and bring the recipt. Today I go and he says "O THERE ON BACK ORDER SO i WILL SHIP THE ORIGINAL USED AMP BACK TOMMORROW. I said no I will wait on the new one because the one that I bought was all scrached up and cut on. I bought it in covered plastic MISTAKE on me. I have already waited since the 2nd of August. Please help me figure out what I should be thinking!

You bought from one shop, had a second shop install it and it smoked, now the first shop is having trouble getting a replacement? Im surprised the first place is covering it at all.

I agree, this is mainly a forum for self-installers.

The second shop is a friend and knows his stuff. It was hooked up right.

x2

you had a shop install an amp... when you already had all the wiring in place... and all you needed was to swap over the wires...
Why?
No the SS was 2 channel and the M was 4 ch so the shop ran all new RCAs to hook the new amp up right.

so all you had to do was run some new RCAs and speaker cables?
And you couldn't do that because?

It is really not difficult. Hell you don't even have to hide the RCAs if you don't want to... The hard part is running the speaker wire between the doors, and that's not even bad if you are creative.

I am not good at taking my car apart to run wires. That is where you smart audio haulics come in.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You just got to get in your ride and start taking shit apart. If you dont, you'll always be a person who pays people to do shit for you.

of course, this makes you easier to be made fun of by people who do know what they're doing. But whatever makes you happy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
