I think you misunderstood what he meant. It's just the technology used....those Critical Mass subs use the same design technology as the Illusion Audio subs; Neo magnet in front of the cone to reduce mounting depth. No reason why you couldn't use them (other than if they don't fit your criteria performance wise)

I don't think he has any room to spare in front of the sub it's going in a pickup. I went to there web site and it's just a pic of a car and some speakers did I miss something?

I don't know how good they are, but I was looking at visonik subs look Here. Will some one commit on there subs?

Diamond M6's are 5-6.5" deep.

also have d3 shallow mount subs

they dont cost a left nut compared to the rest of your list. the ssi has deeper bass then the tsx but will require power. the diamond d6's are no more towards SQ than SPL, that is strightly dependant on your install.

If you rule out internet sales, a lot of the subs, mainly TREO as that's what I sugjested, cost as much at dealers as any other high end sub.I was priced $270.00 for the SSI10 I'm looking at getting. Just to compare, Kickers S12L7 cost me $290.00 and the S10L7 would've cost me $260.00 the internet has made it a price war. Take that away for real compareson.

well you are both right , i didnt realize they had subs with magnets on the front . and no I dont have much room behind my seat . my box pretty much pushes any subs up against the back of the seat if it is all the way back .

they gave me a price on the treos ..... 300 each . im sure they are nice but a little steep for me . I think I am leaning towards those diamond M6's .

as far as wattage going up as your box gets smaller ,, that is correct . but remember right now I am pushing 500+rms to each sub , if I install a sub meant for 250 rms into my smaller box I highly doubt if i will be able to push an extra 250 rms into it . that seems to much of a jump to me , yes I could gain down , but that really isnt the direction i am trying to go here . anyways I am looking into going up to 1500 watts with a new amp . maybe the d61500.1 from diamond also . I am liking their reviews and prices .

also about visonik ... from what people are saying nobody really likes them , but let me tell you what , I work with a guy who drives an eclipse , he has two of visonik upper end 12's and one of their bigger mono amps . all i can say is that system pounds VERY hard ! I dont know why but it does .

thanks for all the replies , I know I am new here but I have doing this for almost 20 years now . I have had alot of different systems in my time , and I know my current system doesnt even come close compared to others , I have some other things in my life now that take priority over car audio (never get married kids ) lol

anyways I just want to put a little bass into my monster truck , not looking to win any spl comps here.

Those slimline 10" from Stryke/AE Speakers are really a cute little driver. Assuming you get a pair you have a decent 4 ohm load that you could bridge a nice amp to and probably have a really nice sounding vehicle.

WTF are you talking about?? They do NOT take up any additional room in front of the driver. That was the point I was trying to make! That should not even been a concern. The magnet is mounted just in front of the cone and only protrudes about 1/4" beyond the surround. It's not like there is a 7" tall motor assembly up there.

Yes, IA is producing speakers again. Last I heard, they should be shipping in mid-July.

You would need that much clearance in front of the sub to begin with due to excursion.

I didn't think this was rocket science, but it appears to be to some people........

I've got a pair of Diamond Audio M6 10" subs for sale. "HAVINGFUN" was the original owner. He used them for about a week then sold them to me. Neither of us have overpowered or slammed the subs.
